First Official Club Outing

After a quick 25km warm up around the little hills of Nottinghamshire, followed by some important carb loading in the Waggon & Horses, Bleasby, five members of our club rode the Peterborough 100km Sportive in 4 hours 14 minutes the following day.
A brutal southerly wind made it hard going at times, especially for Heyddie with deep racing wheels and Stuart who prefers to ride without his hands on the handlebars, but an enjoyable and well-organised event. About 500 riders took part, all in aid of Action Medical Research for Children.
The President has, however, decided to disqualify Heyddie as he admitted to excessive weight reduction investment, carbon fibre bottle holders, more expensive than most people's bikes...
Well done the lads!

A warm up ride which ultimately got us very wet in heavy rain. Welcome Spring 2013!
Alansandro, Stuart and Jan looking surprisingly fresh at the start...
Stewie leading out in his own inimitable style!
Still looking fresh at the end...a testament to good beer and food (thanks Gillian!) the night before :-)
